K9s should be protected just like their handlers. That's why we pride ourselves in providing these vest for the four legged partners. These vests are designed to protect the vital organs of the k9, and they are made of the same quality and grade material as the vest the handler wears to stay protected.
Every year dogs die from being left inside hot vehicles. As K9 handlers, we leave our k9s in our vehicles and leave the vehicles running with the air condition on to keep our partners cool. Unfortunately, accidents and mechanical malfunctions can occur, placing our partners at risk.
Fortunately technology has made it easier to protect our partners. Heat alarms will monitor the temperature inside the vehicle and alert the handler if conditions inside the vehicle become too unsafe due to a mechanical issue with the vehicle. The heat alarm can also send an alert to 911. These systems are designed to pop the door and allow the k9 to get to safety should conditions become unsafe.
K9s are utilized to scan for illicit narcotics, to include deadly opioids such as Heroin and Fentanyl. Exposure to these narcotics can make it unsafe for the k9. Narcan kits can help reverse the effects of an opioid overdose should the k9 come into contact with these substances. Similarly, these k9s units are exposed to various conditions and environments. We provide K9 first aid kits to these teams so the handler can provide immediate critical care to the k9 should they be injured.
Kennel inserts ensure that the k9 has a safe and secure place to ride. These kennels are designed to be a place of comfort for the dog as they work on a regular basis, but they have also proved to keep the k9 and handler protected in a serious accident.
Your support and contributions will enable us to meet our goals and improve conditions of K9 teams all across the state of Maryland. Your partnership with us and your generous donation will fund our mission.
